Born and raised in the Himalayan foothills of Kathmandu, Vaishally later spent her undergraduate years in New York before moving to London for her master’s at the LSE. She discovered anthropology along the way, and it felt like love at first sight.

Fascinated by the stories people carry and the extraordinary hidden in everyday life, Vaishally has researched women’s rights in South Asia and contributed to advocacy initiatives in South Korea. Today, she brings that lens to her role as a PM, asking the “why” behind the data.
