For any of us wondering how to get a good night’s sleep, Veridata Insights has some useful pointers to help you out. Sleep is so important to our health and for our physical and mental wellbeing. There isn’t much worse than being sleep deprived!

While many of us don’t get as much sleep as we need (or want!), many of us struggle with insomnia. Sadly, it’s not uncommon for people to have difficulty falling asleep, or difficulty staying asleep, or both!

Veridata has put together a few tips for getting a good night’s sleep.

Aim To Get 8 Hours Of Sleep

Some of us might need a little more than this, but few of us need less than this!

Have A Set Bedtime

Get to bed at the same time each night, even on weekends. If you don’t fall asleep after 20 minutes, get out of bed and do something relaxing, and try again.

Wake Up At The Same Time Each Day

Just like with your bedtime, wake up at the same time every day including weekends. This maintains your body’s sleep-wake cycle.

Don’t Eat Too Late

Going to bed on a full stomach can interfere with your sleep.

Don’t Go To Bed Hungry

On the flipside, going to bed hungry can also disrupt your sleep. Avoid large meals close to bedtime but have a snack before bed if you’re hungry.

Avoid Stimulants

Nicotine, caffeine, and alcohol all can negatively impact your sleep.

Get Active

Physical activity can help lead to better sleep, but avoid exercising too close to bedtime, as this can disrupt your sleep.

Having difficulty sleeping is truly awful and has a detrimental impact on your mental and physical health. Hopefully, by following these simply tips, it’ll help you get that much needed rest that you deserve!
